This is one of the original rooms that were on the property when Baba first came here. He stayed in this room during 1944-45. Baba again used this room for his night sleep during and after the Manonash period but there was no proper ventilation.

There is only one window facing west and Baba would insist that it be kept shut. Since there was no electricity, kereosene lamps provided the only light. Dr. Donkin was concerned for Baba's health. He felt it was an unhygienic situation and so to remedy it, he drilled holes in a symetrical pattern in the door to let fresh air flow into the room.
